Stealth tactics for pharmaceuticals
The Stealth range of cartoners from US-based MGS features the horizontal, continuous motion Bottle-in-Box Cartoning system for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.
Pharmaceuticals is one of the largest market segments for MGS which can supply small "unit" through to turnkey packaging lines for anything from cold remedies and vitamins to prescription drugs.
Represented in the UK by PPMA member Partners in Packaging, of Heywood, Manchester, the equipment, which features an automatic bottle reject system, automatically receives bottles into a servo-driven timing screw or starwheel product handling device which gently tips and guides them into the carton infeed buckets for automatic loading into the carton. Cartons can be produced in reverse or straight tuck styles with full overlap. Economy glue end is also available.
The small footprint rotary cartoner, which reaches speeds of up to 400cpm, utilises a pre-break system using opposing vacuum cups which improves uptime results. It is controlled by an Allen Bradley SLC-5/04 plc and windows touch screen including RSView 32 operating software, while edocumentation includes a troubleshooting guide, production statistics, changeover recipes, schematics and assembly drawings.
Literature feeding modules for prefolded, sheet or roll-fed labels are also available.
