TOTAL MAGIC
Hall 5 - Stand 5355
UK-based but international in scope, Partners in Packaging (PIP) featured a wide range of new machine systems suitable for a variety of end user markets on its stand at Total Processing & Packaging 2004.
Total saw the launch of PIP’s new distributorship for Etipack Spa, well established Italian manufacturers of labelling and coding systems for pressure sensitive labels supplied to the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Etipack boasts a large range of labellers, offering high-speed tailored systems with complete validation packages to the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries through to simple label applicators for on line labelling on flowrappers and cartoners.
Etipack’s system 5 label applicator will be demonstrated at the show applying a self-adhesive label to two sides of an elliptical bottle together with a print and apply labeller which will be applying a two side wraparound label to a range of cartons. “We feel that the sheer breadth of equipment offered, and customised options available, will mean that our customers will benefit from Etipack’s expertise and we look forward to discussing this equipment with visitors to our stand,” says Duncan Macintyre PIP’s joint managing director.
Now the world’s largest distributor of US-based Streamfeeder’s range of card feeders and collators, PIP demonstrated the diverse range of friction feeders and card collator/feeders, from the world’s largest manufacturer of this type of equipment. Typical applications include simple card feeders, mounted over flow-wrapping machines to handle phone cards, base cards for the bakery industry, leaflets and promotional cards along with high speed collating units for books of stamps and Greetings cards. All Streamfeeder machines can be free standing or integrated as part of a larger system.
From US-based cartoning and product handling specialist MGS, a new series of ITX intermittent Pick n’ Place Denesters suitable for the bakery, confectionery, meat and cosmetics industries was demonstrated. The range features new motion controls offering both denest (sidewall pick) and straight-line motion, while the KwikKlip assembly allows quick and easy magazine adjustments and changeover. Also being demonstrated is a high speed RPP4212 feeding phone cards at 500 a minute.
This RPP range of equipment is also typically used for the high-speed application of leaflets and outserts onto the top and side of pharmaceutical bottles. MGS also manufactures a large range of downstream end load intermittent and continuous motion cartoning machines, vertical and horizontal racetrack conveyors, and case packers.
On show from German company Vepatec is the KA 190 S servo driven carton erector together was the newly launched balcony style ESV 200TS cantilevered construction of closing machine. The new ESV 200 TS, sets new standards in terms of access for maintenance and cleandown, and combines high speed operation with simple quick “toggle clip” release size change parts. This is just one of the lines sold to R Twining & Co for cartoning a range of teas into specially designed and patented siftproof cartons, and more conventional tuck style cartons.
Also shown was the KA 100 S carton erector, running a hexagonal carton, demonstrating Vepatec’s ability to handle difficult shaped and frame wall style cartons. Vepatec also supply a range of lidding, sleeving and robotic product loading systems, as part of their Turnkey offering.
