Pick n Place packs a punch Foodex Meatex and Food & Bake Review THE NEW series of ITX intermittent Pick n’ Place Denesters suitable for the bakery, confectionery, meat and cosmetics industries was launched at Food & Bake and Foodex Meatex at the Birmingham NEC earlier this year.
The range, from cartoning specialist MGS, the largest supplier of tray denesters and pick and place machines in the world, has a number of features including new motion controls that allow increased machine flexibility to provide both sidewall pick off of trays with profiled bottoms, as well as straight pick for standard trays. Additionally, KwikKlip assembly offers quick and easy magazine adjustments and changeover, while its construction means it is suitable for most non-caustic washdown environments. .
The machine features air cylinder drive for a virtually maintenance free motion control and drive system. It runs at up to 50 cycles/minute per lane and can be customised for individual customer requirements.
Also on show was the Vepatec range of 100S servo-driven carton erectors. Particularly suitable for bakery applications the erectors are capable of a wide variety of styles and carton shapes including triangular, hexagonal, octagonal cartons, tapered trays, double-wall and wave-shaped cartons.
