Array of innovations from the PIP contingent at interpack 05
A comprehensive array of innovative new machines and systems from the Partners in Packaging stable of principles will be shown at interpack 2005.
Vepatec - Hall 6 Stand C02 - German manufacturers of specialist and top load cartoning machines will demonstrate its new twin- head KA-390 erecting cartons and packing chocolate bars at speeds of 150 cartons/minute. Also on show will be the new ESV200ST cantilevered-style single flap closing machine.
The new KA-Series is suitable for the food, confectionery and snack industries and is claimed to offer massive savings over end load and crash lock cartoning systems. The Series is capable of erecting a wide variety of carton styles and carton shapes in either corrugated or solid board. These include: with or without hinged lids, triangular, hexagonal and octagonal cartons, and double-wall, frame-wall and wave-shaped cartons; and tapered trays for transit display packs for use in the snacks and confectionery sectors.
Vepatec’s recently introduced TUK 800 Tray Erector will also be in action. The system forms carton board blanks into an almost limitless variety of styles including large display trays, and cartons with and without hinged lids will also be in action. Trays and cartons can be formed from solid carton-board, micro-corrugated-board and B-flute in callipers of up to 3mm caliper. It runs at speeds of up to 40cartons/minute in size ranges from 100x100x30mm to 800x750x350mm.
Options include automatic bulk feed of blanks, Ink Jet Printing, Hot-foil Stamping, Embossing units, additional Folding or Locking Units and integration into complete Packaging Lines.
Synchrosys – Hall 6 Stand E73 - Italian manufacturer of high speed product feeding and handling equipment for the biscuit and confectionery industries, will exhibit a newly designed rusk handling and loading line. Designed to take biscuits in multiple rows from the cooling band, accumulate them, and load them into piles, it operates at 640 rusks/minute.
A patented mechanism helps to minimise product damage by reducing the amount of friction between the product during collation and loading into the cantilevered electronic high speed flow-wrapping machine. This is achieved by forming piles of rusks or biscuits while stationary, before being transferred via servo-driven twin side chains into the wrapper.
MAF – Hall 17 Stand A39 - specialist German manufacturer of case and tray packing systems, will exhibit its' Combimatic 700/1000 Traypacker Series that operates at up to 25 cycles/minute. It is suitable for trays with high borders and top covers, and also comes in wraparound and side loader versions.
The Servo or mechanical and pneumatically driven carton-discharge and carton-folding systems can be provided with a variety of MAF infeed, handling and stacking systems and offers quick repeatable operator changeover as well as the ability to print and label on line.
Italian labelling specialist Etipack - Hall 11 Stand D48 – will show its range of labelling heads, which includes four models, handling labels up to 250mm wide and speeds of 120m/min. These units offer great flexibility and control for a broad range of applications. Some full labelling and handling systems will also be shown – including the system 5/2 for front and back labelling onto oval/elliptical products and system 6 (Pharmaseal) - tamper evident label applicator. Other products include print and apply systems for pallets and cartons together with a selection of offline thermal transfer printers.
