PIP HELPS THE MEDICINE GO DOWN
A compact pick & place spoon feeder to insert measuring spoons into medicinal cartons for a blue chip customer has been supplied by Partners in Packaging to Carmichael Engineering of Corby.
The twin magazine large capacity IPP270 from MGS Machine Corporation, of the US, picks and places two medicine spoons into the intermittent infeed of a CAM model PMM horizontal cartoner at speeds of up to 60-70/minute.
The vacuum-operated IPP270 range comes with either sanitary or full wash down specifications, has a cantilevered style of construction and may be used to pick & place spoons, leaflets and trays, either vertically or horizontally. It is complemented by a higher speed range of rotary pick & place feeders that operate at up to 600 pieces/minute.
Partners in Packaging managing director said, “MGS is the largest manufacturer of this type of machinery in the world and the group’s expertise means that it produces the most innovative and reliable feeders on the market. Among the many advantages of both the IPP and IPX feeders are their fast and repeatable product changeover which means less downtime and greater machine efficiency. Typically the systems pay for themselves within the first six months of operation.” |
