Also on show will be the new Vepatec Stainless Steel SSV200 tray-sleeving machine, which applies sleeves at up to 140/minute from a flat blank. Suitable for ready meal, frozen food and other pre-formed trays, the sleeves are taken from a high capacity magazine, wrapped around the product and glued or tab-locked. As a security measure there is also an option to fix the sleeve to the tray using a peelable adhesive. |

Among the innovations to be unveiled will be a new generation Streamfeeder Pro series card feeder featuring the new ‘Flow-fold’ module developed by PiP's engineering team. Fitted to the discharge of the Pro-series ST 1250 the ‘Flow-fold’ is designed to take flat pre-creased U and C cards and fold them as they are dispensed. This alleviates the need to make expensive modifications to flowrapper infeeds. The module is fully adjustable for a range of card sizes and can be wound out of the way when not required.
The well proven low cost ST 1250, installed in many leading UK bakeries to feed base cards, is simple to mount on or over a variety of wrapping machines and is suitable for feeding items such as flat, U and C cards at high speed with incredible accuracy and reliability. |

PiP innovations create customer cost savings

Reaching speeds of up to 200/minute for print and apply labels, or up to 400/minute applying labels only, the System 9 unit enables market sectors such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food, to take variable and sequential information from a database, and print details such as address, bar code and sequential number before the label is applied. |
|
“The New System 9 reduces the requirement to stock large numbers of carton designs,” says PiP Managing Director Duncan Macintyre. “Different label and artwork designs together with different bar codes and sequential number and date codes can be applied to blank cartons as and when required.”
Finally PiP’s claim to be the Gurus of de-nesting machinery will be justified at this year's PPMA Show where visitors can view the three options available from their de-nesting range: the Speed-Disp, RPP rotary and IPP pick and place classic.
“Our aim is to be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for de-nesting equipment and through our expertise in this key area, to take the strain when it comes to finding the best solution for a customer’s project,” explained Duncan Macintyre. |

Utilising flat blanks as opposed to pre-glued sleeves achieves significant cost benefits through the larger magazine capacity and consequent longer times between re-fills. Cost savings can also be made in both transportation and storage of flat blanks prior to sleeving.
Not stopping there, PiP is also introducing the new Etipack System 9 printing and labelling system, designed to offer high speed, high quality, variable and sequential printing and application of labels to cartons and envelopes. |
