Card Trays for slider burgers
Glendale Foods Ltd in Salford, are a producer of Fine Meat Products and “Food for on the go” and their name is synonymous with consistent quality in snack foods, processed meats and protein products, supplied to a global customer base of retail and catering organisations. Their speciality is that they cater for a range of specific market requirements and one of their specialities is a range of cooked burgers, sliders and grills.
When they were looking at the packaging for the range, they opted for an eco-friendly range of card trays and cast their eye around for a company who could automate the placing of the card trays into their conveyor.
Partners in Packaging Machine Systems Ltd, leading UK manufacturer of Tray, lid and card handling systems supplied one of their latest A Series-plus-twin, stainless steel tray denester-placers to pick and place the card trays for the product to be loaded into.
The A Series-plus range is equipped to handle a range of tray materials from card trays, plastics and foils and is available in several widths and specifications to suit most applications.
“The most attractive feature of the A Series-plus machine, is its simplicity and flexibility together with speed of size change” said Mike Roberts, Glendale Operations Director. “A typical size change between large and small trays takes less than a couple of minutes from running to running, using the factory set size parts. There is no adjustment required by the operator and the changeover can be done by operators without using any tools whatsoever”.
The A Series-plus denester-placers, are part of a large range of machines, all designed to handle eco-friendly board and re-cycled tray materials.
“We have installed our machines in many of the largest companies across the UK to smaller SMEs and we have UK-wide spares and service support available from our North West facility” said Duncan Macintyre, PiP director. We are strategic partners with many of our fellow PPMA members, and manufacture standard machines, together with tailored special lines for denesting and re-stacking where we have also integrated labellers and pad placers.
