The Purrfect solution to a feline challenge!

When raw and natural cat food manufacturer Purrform approached us with the challenge of increasing production, AND reducing labour costs we came up with a simple and reliable solution to feed empty tubs and apply a lid to filled tubs.

PurrForm products are complete foods for our feline freinds and they contain all the vitamins and minerals your cat requires on a daily basis. It was our responsibility to provide a cost effective solution to make sure Purrform could pack more catfood whilst saving money on labour costs. Some might say, the cat’s whiskers!

Working with other key equipment providers, we installed a standard solution which reduces the labour required to run the line to one person.

Our solution was two of our Stainless Steel washdown A Series Denester-placers. The first machine places the tubs onto an indexing chain and peg conveyor which transports the tub to a lift station, where the tub is elevated and presented to the cat food depositor. After filling each tub is checkweighed and indexed to the lidding station where a second A Series denester-placer, applies two lids per cycle. The lids are then snapped closed using a tamping device before being discharged for packing into trays.

Each machine has a touch screen HMI with simple and easy to follow menus where new format information is stored. Machine functions and configurations can be altered using a password protected engineer access level.

Changing to other tub sizes is a simple task using our lightweight but durable factory set size change masks. A typical format change takes only a few minutes by a trained operator.
